False Prophecy…

Claim: A 1654 Nostradamus prediction said World War III would begin with the fall of "two brothers," a reference to the destroyed World Trade Center towers.

Status: False.

Come on people? Please…<- meaning -> out

More reactions…

We have had innumerable people at TPU impacted by this. Many students are from NYC with relatives working in the World trade center as well as Alumns. So far there is one confirmed death, the aunt of a student while other continue to wait.

One of the things that astounded me was surfing through various TV channels to see how much the perspectives changed… CNN vs. ESPN vs. BBC vs. MTV.

Thanks for your thoughts this morning. Actually, I knew Michael Judge, the fire dept. chaplain who was killed. He had given a retreat here in Hartford several years ago and I would occasionally get a Christmas card from him. It’s weird… I sat and watched TV and heard his name mentioned several times before it actually registered who they were talking about. Sometimes the brain just doesn’t process logically.

I hope you are OK in this dreadful time. Will talk to you soon.
Phil

Thanks, Gary - It’s so important to share and connect at a time like this - although, let’s face it there’s never really been a time like this has there? It’s so true about all the levels of impact - just so sad. I guess we just need to try and be the good that outways the bad in the world.
Take care, God Bless

A reaction Many of us have probably thought, but have yet to voice…

It’s probably a commentary on how this situation has affected me, but I don’t even have the stomach to turn on the TV right now. I want to fight or kill something, but I can do neither right now.

Anyway, I hope everyone is doing better… coping, dealing.
Brian

Thank you again everyone… <- meaning -> out

Where does your loyalty lay?

Ah yes, I worked today just like most Americans. I worked with strange feelings within me deisring resolution. Answers, I wanted answers. Hell, I still want answers! My day was extremely odd. Tensions were high at work which was to be expected. The ultimate was near the end of the day when someone from Los Angeles had the audacity to complain that we were closed yesterday! YESTERDAY!? Not like we were under seige or anything. Not like the country was under attack.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Of couuuuuuuuuuuuuuurrrrse not.

IDIOT!!!

She then complained that it was important that we should have been open yesterday. "Other businesses were open." Yes that’s a direct quote. She then continued and told me why it was important that why we should have been open… get this, because she couldn’t get to the Internet.

((insert pause for effect))

Yes, I was ready to jump through the phone and strangle her. HELLO?! WHAT’S MORE IMPORTANT!!!?!!! GET A CLUE PLEASE! Thousands of people died and being close to the city WE KNOW PEOPLE THERE AND WANT TO BE WITH our familes and friends. There are those near and far of course that have relatives, friends, etc. in the city. COME ON MAN! Throw down your cards and tell me, where does your loyaty lay… <- meaning -> out

Life is stranger then fiction…

TWIN TOWERS ALBUM COVER

Hip-Hop Group Yanks Album Cover Depicting WTC Blast

The album cover for hip hop group The Coup manages to even out-weird the quotes from Nostradamus doing the email rounds today. Designed more than three months ago, the original cover for ‘Party Music’ shows group member ‘Boots’ Riley holding a detonator while the World Trade Centre explodes behind them. If you examine the actual explosions you’ll notice that they are around the same relative height on each of the towers as the real explosions. There’s been no word from 75 Ark Records, The Coup’s label, on the subject, but on their website the artwork has already been changed.

It’s at times like this that I wonder how good it is that we can express ourselves in anyway we’d like. Granted it’s freedom of expression and it’s all done it various tastes of art. This is just another thing that those that attacked us just do not understand. Freedom. Say it to yourself people - FREEDOM. We have it, don’t forget it… <- meaning -> out
