CT Reps Vote - June 26, 2006

Categories: CT news

Those making minimum wage you’ve been shafted by the Senate. Not by CTs reps though. Joe and Chris said YES but the 60 other YES votes needed to bump up the minimum from $5.15 to $7.25 were elsewhere.

Oh! And! A vote to adjust the minimum wage to “$6.25 while decreasing taxes and regulations for small businesses” was also rejected! Smack down! Bam!

Reporting… Um, Live-ish from Kaua’i (part 2)

We’re back but that doesn’t mean we’re completely back physically or mentally. I don’t know how I managed it but I wrote a stupid amount since I last posted. In Word it’s about 8.5 pages. Yea. There’s a bunch. If you’re brave enough to click More… below you’ll see many words organized into semi-sentences trying to piece together my thoughts from the latter half of the trip. Mahalo.

Oh! Ali posted some new thoughts to her site after we got back to 11o1. Check em: http://emmapoeta.com

For the full on robot chubby the word ‘more’ is waiting for you…

What is the next part of freedom that will be taken away from American
citizens? Oppose this bill. It is yet another freedom that should not be
taken away. I may disagree with the act of burning, shredding, tearing the
flag but that does not mean it should be illegal.

Sincerely,

Gary Ploski

Joe L wrote back to me. Rosa mailed, old school style!, me her position, and Chris… Well, I’m still waiting to hear back from him.

The good news, simply put, is that he agrees that states should have the right to decide. Gov T should not dictate what is free speech. I guess that kind of goes against the whole “free” thing when the limits are dictated.

Now go out there and burn baby burn. It’s your right.

Hawaii.net at Lihue Airport

Live from: udp024263uds.hawaiiantel.net (72.234.107.81) emma and I have snuck online via an open wireless connection at the airport. We’re on the floor next to an elevator and a Fire Door. I figure why not give it a try before we left. Viola! We’re online. Security anyone?

I’ve written about 14 pages of text since arriving in Kaua’i. Our flight leaves at 10:40 PM local time. If you want to follow our flight the number is: US Airways 947 The flight from Phoenix is: US Airways 12. Arrival time at JFK is (scheduled for) 512 PM (Tuesday).

I’ll post the rest of my thoughts after we get back to 11o1. Mahalo for stopping by fellow net folk.
