Michael Early
Fall 2006 Evaluation
This is my third year working with Gary Ploski and it is a joy to continue our collaboration. His work ethic, professionalism and generosity of spirit are unparalleled. Gary’s presence in the class helps to raise the level of play. I am excited to see that he has begun to take more emotional risks in his acting. I trust that he will continue along these lines during the second semester. Gary has taken advantage of the fact that the class is smaller than it’s been in past years, and so his work has become more specific. I encourage Gary to trust the skills he has developed thus far and to continue working towards expanding his emotional and vocal range.

Spring 2007 Evaluation
Gary Ploski did consistently fine work this semester. His acting has become richer and more nuanced. I am especially pleased that he has found more vocal freedom, expressivity and stamina. Gary has developed a considerable technical foundation and he simply needs as many opportunities as possible to practice.

Personal Evaluation
It is always a pleasure working with Michael. We realized that I walked out of the class with 4 monologues – 3 classical and 1 modern – at the ready. Fantastic. Some things I found this year included: constant pausing when reading something (I put too many dramatic pauses in so the text became choppy) and I lean my head in a few degrees when I’m trying to get a point across.
I found that I listened much more to the other actors this year and enjoyed the experience each time. This helped with the lead in line… The line that sparks me to speak. Often if I had nothing to say it was because I had nothing to say. But, when the moment came it put me in the ready to jump back into the conversation. Listening became truly active instead of the passive ‘waiting for my line’ moment.
Going forward I hope to work with Michael again. We have discussed a summer project which should be fantastic but details have not been set in stone as of yet.
