BLUE ANTS
May, 5 2006 @7:30 pm, Rothschild Studio
Please join us in the basement of Rothschild for a reading of a new play, BLUE ANTS, written by Ying-Hsin Chen, directed by Suzana Berger. What would you do if you could only wear underwear made of burlap? In China, under The Cultural Revolution, one billion people were chanting the same slogans and wearing the same blue uniform, like faceless blue ants. But in Shanghai, three young girls started a small revolution for beauty and freedom in the great revolution.

Production experience

This is the first show or reading in which I received my notes via email before I spoke a line. It was also the first show I ever performed in without ever having a rehearsal. It was fun in its uniqueness. I can’t say that I would ask for this again unless it were the point of the exercise/show.
