04/22/04 7:30pm, Open Space Theater
The SLC Theatre Program invites you to 9X: THE DIRECTING WORKSHOP ONE-ACTS, nine different directors with three different programs of one-act plays, presented by Dave McRee’s Directing Workshop class. PROGRAM A: Big Al, directed by Ted Anderson; If I Had to Perish Twice, directed by Gary Ploski; Fifteen Minutes, directed by Ashleigh Hile; The Siren Song of Stephen Jay Gould, directed by Laura Skokan.

Production experience

Why not give directing a shot? Sure… Months later and one production later. None for me thanks.

I did not do the typical with this show. How? I commissioned someone to write a 10 minute piece and then directed it. What’s the big deal? We were supposed to find a play and then direct it. Blah. That seemed lame to me. I belong either in front of the director acting or behind the director producing. The best part? I enjoy both performing and coordinating.

Directing. Nah. I have some ideas, that’s enough for me to give suggestions. Like I said. No more directing for me. Not for a long time.
