Production experience
After we finished the run I spoke with the director about how I felt like there were too many voices on stage. The director and faculty seemed to have the same level of input which left me confused about what I was being asked to do.
In the reading I was given the freedom to explore the character during the two rehearsals. During the full performance I felt locked into other people’s interpretation of my character which made me feel like I was being forced to deliver someone else’s vision. Had I not been involved in the reading it would have been different, but that wasn’t an option. The cast and crew were great to work with but the show didn’t feel fully alive to me.
