Production experience
This was the first role with any significant amount of dialog I had since November of 2003. Adding up the months that comes to just under 18 full months. I remember my heart racing. Terrified that I would forget a line. Who was this person?
The play took me over as soon as I began my first line – “BAH!”
This was my first Chekhov and I hope it is not my last. Stepan Stepanovich Chubukov was so much fun to take on. His hearty laughs, pride, and arrogance made him one of my favorite characters to portray.
If only the play were longer… BAH!
