Production experience

A standing ovation… for the musicians. I chuckled a few times after the show. I didn’t think much about the location of the show – a school of music. Right. Talk about a turn out. The place was filled.

Live music is beautiful. Performing with live music… That’s the ticket!

I have to say this was one of the most challenging shows to have worked on due to, I think, differences in culture and language. Many times during rehearsal I became very angry because I did not understand what was being asked of me. Eventually the word mix ups were sorted out but it was one hell of a road to walk.

Reaction to the show was mixed because the fable was lost in the presentation according to some friends and family. The show was stylized and due to certain constraints some elements from the show could not make it to the stage. For example a card game turned into a physical pushing and pulling of the soldier and the devil.

This is the first show I have access to on DVD and I have to say that it’s really, really nice having it for posterity and for a reel. Yeah technology.
