Production experience

In simple terms – I had a blast performing as Talthybius. Playing with the rage, frustration, sadness, loss, etc. every performance was great.

The show itself was presented in the way I enjoy plays: basic costuming and practically no set. Sure it was on stage and there were lights, music, and sound but that was about all. The imagination played a vital role in show.

If there was one thing I could have asked to be different it would have been the script. It was a mash-up script from a number of sources – fine, fine, fine. The original trouble was the length and then it was the group think. I do not believe that the actors should have been a part of the editing process. The writers should have met and agreed on what to cut and what to keep.

Because of a loose script in the hands of the cast hours and hours were spent talking instead of rehearsing. Time we never got back.

Fortunately it came together but I believe it could have been even stronger with that one production change.
