Whoa! Chris Dodd has “launched an interactive digital journal” – read Blog. and he’s evening “utiliz(ing) the very latest communications technology” – read Podcast & RSS to reach his CT peeps. Sadly his web designers haven’t learned enough about another amazing technology called CSS to avoid using something called FRAMES! from the search page results.
“Come on man!” Ah well, at least he’s getting in touch with his peeps. Hoo-rah to new web bits and bytes. Way to go politics for helping to change the language to sound… Uh… I have no idea what it sounds like to the day-to-day meep out there. Next time hire someone that can make your site truly user friendly and follow the standards that are being used out and about on this thing called the web.
|Welcome to the First Edition of my Email Newsletter
As we begin the year 2006, I am writing to let you know about two new on-line initiatives in my office.
First, I’ve launched an interactive digital journal to keep you better informed about the work I’m doing in the Senate. I hope this journal will give us a new way to take action together on important issues. I will be writing to you with a general update about every four to six weeks, as well as sending issue-specific e-mails as events unfold.
Second, today I am unveiling a new and improved web site that utilizes the very latest communications technology, offers expanded services and search capabilities, and contains an extensive review of my record and thoughts on the important issues facing us today.
We live in a time of great promise for our country. America’s progress in the 21st century will in large part depend on the decisions our nation’s leaders make in the next few years. Now more than ever, it is critically important that we maintain a strong defense against the true threats to our national security, that we commit our nation to providing a world-class education to each American child, that we invest in the vast potential of our economy to create great jobs and prosperity and that we defend the constitutional principles that have made our nation a land of freedom and justice.
I also hope that you will take a moment to forward this e-mail to friends and family who might be interested in working to achieve our common goals. To learn more, please visit my web site at http://dodd.senate.gov
I hope that you choose to become an active member of my growing on-line community so that we can move our nation forward in the 21st century.
With warm regards,
Christopher J. Dodd
United States Senator
